I hate 20.six No images and really, really dodgy text formatting.

Crappy text formatting, no pictures. What is a boy to do ? (Grit one's teeth and bear it, I suppose).
Oh, so, the kindy is seeking to be selected as a 'classical Kindergarten' by the review squad from the Suzhou Municipal Education Bureau ?
Guess Big J will be invited to stay home on Friday when they conduct their sweep. Nothing like having foreigners with dodgy Shanghai (non-Suzhou) credentials on board, waving flash cards and playing in the the courtyard with the kids. It's not about teaching English.
We're up to "I'm sick. I have a cold, I have a cough, a headache, a runny nose, a fever". Repeat after me Kids. Do the actions.
I thought we were stamping out corruption ? I find out that today I have no afternoon classes (Wednesday), nor tomorrow nor Friday. English is not necessary for our classes . WTF ? OK, relaxation time for the foreigner. Sweet.
Old China hands ? Hands full - you know the drill. Hands actually empty, and What ? The foreigner gets told NOTHING unless it asks, pointedly. We now know !
Good night and good luck.. Jamieson.

Grumbling - again
I am compelled at the commencement of this essay to inform my reader that whilst living and working in South-Eastern China that I do not have access to the wealth of reference material available to students to research the subject at hand - in Australia. And my computer only has Chinese software. (Had... May 08 - ed.)
This statement is not a complaint; it is just an explanation of the reality of living in a developing country with forbidden access to academic texts which dare to discuss, evaluate or yet, even acknowledge the reality of the existence of terrorism in our contemporary world. The current paradigm of the Chinese Central Communist Party is that we (in China) should strive for a “harmonious society”, therefore the concept – of, inspirations, reasons and outcomes for terrorism should be shielded from the Chinese masses [lest they experiment with it themselves). ]

Bang Bang.
So I cooked cauliflower au Grautin and a chicken stew with potatoes, carrots, leeks, tomatos with a hint of thyme. That's my job. So, you two swept and mopped the floor, that's my job
too. Jamieson has many jobs, main job is to avoid pissing off Yukes and Mei Mei. Just get there out there and work.
Where are my MATES ?
Where are 'me mates'' ?
Where are my MATES ?
Not happy leaving behind. Self pity again, but when youi're here you here when you need your mates. Mate ? Where are you ? You ? I have an Italian friend , mother of 2: friend with depression, another American friend with acute anxiety asking where? Hop on the web, we'll get the answer in Chinese or English.
Jamieson ? Surely,l not. Yeah he has depression too. I didn't wish for it, but the black cloud of it has clouded his mind.
Sometimes, Being way isn't the best . Tomorrow will be good.
Yuki asked me : Why did you cry so much ? Mei Mei was worried, you're crying. Men don't cry
!.
"Because I want to be recognised as a part of your family, to be acknowledged and accepted. Not be a colleague but a husanbd. A Provider."
Try it yourself. Come to China and try to be invicible.
It will change you to various levels : 1. Leader (yeah right) 2. Follower
Sounds complex, eh? Simple , eh ?
Some say we come to China because we couldn't make it in our own country. What a tiny taste
of B.S. We bring emotional baggage and it is VERY quickly changed into Chinese currency.
We are here to work, newbies might feel that Blue eyes are the only requirement for entree.
Even today, I can't handle the B.S. Vomit ? So what ? Lose 1000 RMB ?$160. I went there,
this morning, did the morning chant in front of the crowd, So disgusted, so fake. I went home.
Don't worry, Jamiesom will calm down tomorrow. Seems he has exhausted his smile (and take it), hence his outburst the other day. Dare I call it the 'China Syndrome' ?
I'm only here for Yuki
& Mei Mei.
Good night and good luck.
Sorry about the erratic spacing, it's 20.six Not my fault.

English Corner, I'm lovin' it !
Just got back from an English Corner at the spiders WEB and it was good. The students were very excited, happy. Jamieson assumed the role of entertainer, magician and all-knowing seer. The wise and well-fed Laowai, pouring the treacle of Laowainess into the willing mouths of the Citizens.
I have no problem with Chinese folks, the middle class urging themselves toward a better life. I like the spiders WEB, because the students wear Armani, Boss and Dior.
Your friend, Big J, had a huge self pity cry last night. Grumpy that even while he held the princess every night, he was not invited to see the grandparents.
IF you get into my corner of the ring, YOU are still the alien. Seems you are not possible to be a part of the family. Really ? Zhe dao ma ? (You know, right ?) Real Wahhhhh. Globalisation.
That's what takes whities from their comfortable nests and venture in to places that are overtly hostile. We believe in democracy, complete with clippings from the paper that show us, strong, proud and free.
That's why we come to China.
Why ? And, again I ask you Why ?
Are we free in China ? Well. we go to the Consulate and try to evict our Australian government, from 13,000 km away. VOTE for the opposition party.
Jamieson wakes up each morning and realises he is still in China. A cunning fellow, who learns fast. Wily, slippery but trustworthy : Isn't that a metaphor for China ?
Why do we come to China and live here for years ? Is it the allure of beautiful Chinese Ladies ? The attractive living conditions ? Condomimiums ?
No, Jamieson has concluded that the reason for being here is Care.
Such an extreme paradox, the toxicity of the environment vs the loving kisses from Big J's Kindy kids.
Pick one which is better ?
I get at least 10 kisses a day. How many do you get ? Perfectly innocent kids, in the face of globalisation. They don't kiss the Chinese local teachers. Globalisition is in their faces.
As for the spiders WEB, I am unconcclusive. Do they dangle their lure for a laowai (foreigner) boyfriend) ?
Absolutely. If I was in their shoes, I'd give it a good try. Many of them are ummmm lovely. But, let's face it : China belongs to them, they belong to China. How can they sleep in a bed that is not inot in China ?
Roots are deep in China 中国. A foreigner can't just waltz in and pick the flower. We need to preserve the face and dignity of our likes.
The point ? The point of this meandering, aimless diatribe ? Goodnight and goodbye.
No, there is a point, I may have missed it. (We are in China, and its our duty,) What transpires is our luck .

Many things making Big J delighted....
1. Saddam is sentenced to the rope for the Dujail 'incident' (and faces even more murder charges).
2. Good ol' Don Rumsfeld has had his head served to the U.S. public on a platter and :
3. The Democrats in the U.S. have edged even closer to controlling the U.S. Senate after mid-term elections. If they get control, they'll make Dubbya's next 2 years "rather miserable".
4. Finished the book "Foreign babes in Beijing". Apparently it was a very popular soap opera on Chinese TV in the mid-90s, with Jiexi (Rachel Dewoskin, the star from the U.S.) as the lead actress. A very good read, many aspects of her trials in Beijing are parallel to some of mine here in Suzhou. But, hey, I got it easy here. Even faked 2 days as a Century 21 sales executive at a trade fair. Thanks for your 'fatherly advice' Larry, I'll bear it in mind - or is that bare my behind ? (LOL), kidding Bro.
Good night, and good luck.

Another day at the Mill.
Why is Jamieson so prolific with his updates ? Dunno, must be the weather. Getting cold, real fast. Now wearing gloves to ride back home. Beanie is next. Had home-made uhhh, not noodles, baozhi - dumplings on Sunday. Also had a Chinese mosquito flying around at 6 am today. Gassed the bedroom tonight. Had a gruelling day, today. 1 hour class time with the vowel box, then 30 mins play time followed by library time. Sweet. Jamieson has time off until 4.30 pm. Lunch ? 'Soup of the day' (pumpkin and carrot, kind of sweet) with garlic bread. Jamieson has recreational and instructional reading time "Babes of Beijing", got to page 112, wow in 3 hours. Then, compile a dossier of t**rist events, write a report.) F. Why did I sign up for this ?Tomorrow is hell day. 7 classes. Bye bye loves. We have a plant that closes its leaves when touched. It's my favourite. I watered it tonight, and reassured it that I would look after it. AUSTRALIA, the worst drought in 1,000 years. That's not funny. Drought is not funny. Dams are now at 18% full. Climate change is putting my country at severe risk. Strange, Suzhou hasn't had much rain in the past 6 months but we have a huge lake, the size of Holland which provides us with water, we can shower. Water-ski on it! Hell, go jet-ski on it. Maybe we can drink it too, if only the pipes weren't 50 years old. All my students caution me to not drink it. [But I see the shifus (workers) replacing the pipes with plastic ones). Excavators, diesel fumes, China is developing at a pace that will blow your mind. Faster boys, Faster. I have a colleague from the Ukraine, Ukraine mind you : passed off as a native speaker of English. Brown eyes. White skin. A good man, 23 years old. If I survived a plane crash and we searched for water, I'd want him by my side.
Yuki has a particular dislike for him. Maybe I'm wrong (surely, she's right) Anyway, China is growing at a speed you can't believe. Good night , and good luck. Jamieson
